Discord – Discernment – Empathy

I have 13.3 in my Attraction and as the Venus Retreat brought us to contemplating this sphere, I wanted to start as usually – read about the sphere itself and then reread the chapter about the 13th Gene Key in Richard Rudd’s “blue book” – The Gene Keys. Embracing your Higher Purpose. That’s the drill, right?
Not this time. I started to read about the Attraction and I felt such a repulsion. I couldn’t make any sense of the words, I couldn’t even remember the last sentence I’ve been reading… Since the Gene Keys are all about intuition, I followed this repulsion and stopped reading the Venus course material. I managed to read about the 13th Gene Key in the book, but hardly. It felt like my mind was blocked for any of that stuff in that moment.
And what a blessing that was! Very new feeling for me, with my intellectual inclinations and the need to “know” things. They say, Venus Sequence is all about emotions and embodiment, not about mind-based, logical understanding and this was the first time I really followed that premise.
Empathy – Listening through Love
Instead of creating an in-depth analysis of what Discord, Discernment and Empathy frequencies “mean” for me, and what instances of their workings I can find in my past and present, I focused solely on the 13th Gene Key’s liner: Listening through Love.
For the whole 6 weeks period we had for contemplation of the Attraction, I listened. Instead of talking, I listened. Instead of thinking or reading, I would quiet my mind and listen inwardly. I realized how much our culture is about talking, producing sound, producing content, “making some noise!”, being loud (literally or metaphorically) enough so that people may hear us. We basically live to outshout each other. It seems that we have forgotten how to listen to each other and to the world around us.
I am a musician, trained in “western classical singing”. I had this revelation, that in the West we are trained to produce sound outwards, while in some of the Eastern traditions we produce sound more inwards, to let the higher frequencies build up and resound for themselves. Classic East/West dichotomy. Interestingly, my Attraction field – while I haven’t been reading or learning about it – brought to me several courses regarding practises of overtone singing, vocal joga, nada joga, deep listening…
They say, the 13th Gene Key is about listening and secrets. Yes, people has always liked to be around me, talk to me about their private affairs, sharing secrets, pains and pleasures (not necessarily caring whether I feel like listening to them or not). This is what I am attracting. Nothing to do about it.
The key is to start to care about the quality of my listening. The frequency of listening.
When I am in a Discord frequency, all I can hear is disharmony. Deep pessimism. Misogyny, oh, I know it so well! Humanity is doomed. History only repeats itself. Why can’t we learn something from the past? And all the “we” or “uhh, stupid humans” statements you can read in the paragraph above or in my last post about Christmas. Or, on the individual level: Why am I always repeating the same mistakes? In Discord I am stuck in the past and never ending stories produced by my pessimistic thoughts. It is very easy to drop into this frequency – just turn on the news and read some headlines! For me, when I watch the news, the question “What is wrong with this people?” shows up immediately.
It takes some effort to rise above this frequency even if the technique is simple: just stop; take a breath; hear yourself saying these things and start to listen.
Even a short pause can do the trick and get me into Discernment. I am getting better and better with discerning the voices in my head from the voice of my heart. The latter is very quiet and it doesn’t speak any words, so with my mind packed with words – it’s not easy to hear it! But when I manage to really listen inward, the Heart’s language of love and tranquillity is unmistakable. “Listen to your heart”. “Follow your heart”. Everyone says that! But humanity is really bad at it, we are just too loud with all our ideas and pressures (here comes my misogyny again ;)).
In the heart there is no place for pessimism. Heart is all about love and compassion. Forgiveness. Empathy. Even if I pause for a moment, with a deep intention, I can feel the shift from pessimism into lightness, into a broader perspective of discernment, possibility of compassionate and gentle learning from the past towards a plausible brighter future. The “mythical thinking” about one’s own life can enter.
It seems that half of the tales of this world (…) is about poor people deprived of power and possessions who eventually become kings or queens, princes or princesses. We reject this kind of mythical course of events as a pattern of wishful thinking, whereas it is a fundamental pattern of camouflage or forgetting, of loss and recovery. Every Sleeping Beauty sleeps before she meets her prince. The Duckling must be Ugly – without this there would be no fairy tale. The Knight must be wounded or he will never know what the Holy Grail is, let alone how to find it. Jesus must be crucified or there would be no resurrection. Although this truth has been written into our programming, we can only hear it at the level of spirit. At the ego level we tend to resist and oppose it.

Empathy, empathetic listening, is able to hear and embrace all the frequencies. It never judges, measures, comments, presents opinions, gives advice. It simply IS there for you. It is listening with all its heart and being – as a soft, gentle, healing presence, until it dissolves completely into Oneness.
